Description:
Of the 31 variations of the terrific Savage 99 the G Deluxe Takedown is considered to be the most attractive. This rifle is in good general repair; the take down functions effortlessly and is very tight. Someone attempted to clean some light pitting with steel wool or other on the rite side of the receiver and it has a repair to the stock behind the upper tang where so many 99's cracked. The finish to stock set is original and excellent other than the repair as noted and the checkering is also excellent.
These were produced from 1922 to 1941; this one is belived to be a 1929 gun
it would be an excellent candidate for reblue and would be a stunning gun. The stock repair could be touched up by a competent wood man and does not need refinishing . It would be a great gun to hunt with as is
