Savage model 99F in 308 Win.Built in 1959,this rifle combines the classic features of the older 99s with some more modern features that make it a better hunting rifle.The old style features include the cartridge counter,lever safety,hand checkered walnut stock and forend,steel buttplate,and factory drilled and tapped for a tang sight.The more modern features are a 22" light countour barrel,factory drilledn and tapped for scope mounts,a jeweled bolt,and a modern caliber.This gun is in excellent original condition.It retains 95% of the original blue and wood finish.The stock is sound with no cracks or damage.The lever still retains 50% of the case colors.the bore is mint with sharp well defined rifling.The rifle weighs 6-8 without a scope.This is a great all around big game rifle in a hard to find caliber.C&R eligible.
