SPRINGFIELD M1903 MARK 1 MODIFIED FOR THE PEDERSON DEVICE
Springfield Armory Model 1903 Mark 1 Caliber .30-06. MODEL 1903 MARK I .30-06 cal., is a U.S. Model 1903 Springfield that included modifications for use with the Pederson device. Modifications included a modified receiver with a slot milled into the left side to act as an ejection port for use with the semi-automatic device. The stock was relieved below the ejection port, also the trigger , bolt stop, and bolt stop pivot pin were modified. Manufactured prior to 1918 when the war ended, making the device obsolete. The number of MARK 1s made does not seem to be a fixed number. One can say they are scarce compared to a standard M1903. This rifle does NOT include any of the modified parts, or the device, magazine, wrench, or box of ammo, (shown for reference). Barrel is marked H.S. 12/44 Receiver, Bolt and Stock have a matching number. Serial number is 1102229. During World War I, the United States secretly developed the Pedersen Device for use with the M1903 Springfield Mark 1 rifle that allowed it to fire semi-automatically with a .30 Pederson --.30 AUTO. PISTOL BALL CARTRIDGE, as the ammo box was marked. .Has both sling swivels and stacking swivel. Bore is in excellent shape, shiny through out . Ships to C&R or FFL.
