Description:
A wonderful large caliber Schmidt Percussion Pistol with 8 inch rifled barrel, number 2 of a probable cased pair and so marked and with serial number 286. Pistol is antique excellent condition showing very minimal wear for its age, and in perfect working order. It does have the original hammer block safety device and most all metal parts on the pistol are nicely factory engraved. Checkering is original and excellent. Weight is 1 lb 11 oz and overall length is 14 inches. Pistol is very well proportioned. Bottom of the butt does have some dings and dents but all aspects of this firearm show the quality that Schmidt (at Gustrow) is well known for. We believe circa 1850-1855.
