They were first produced in 1939 starting at S/N 90000. It is one of 390,000 produced. The left slide legend is “Walther’s Patent Mod. 8” over the WALTHER BANNER. Right slide legend is Waffenfabrik Walther Zella-Mehlis (Thur.) above the Crown / N Proof. S/N 39415X. Very good mechanical condition. Bluing is very good on both sides and the slide top. Grip straps have gone gray. Magazine is very good with a large, bold “W” on the base plate. Bore is shiny, clean and strong. Grips don’t appear to be worn or chipped.
