Description:
Sale Pending!  This is a pretty nice example of an early 1880's vintage Smith and Wesson 32 Double Action that is still in its original factory box.  Serial number is in the 45,000 range which makes it a very early 4th Model.  Accordig to Flayderman's Guide, the 4th Model 32 DA started at serail number 43,406 in 1883 and was produced all the way to the year 1909 (serial number 282,999) which is a fairly long time for a production run without a significant upgrade or improvement.  This one was likely produced in 1883 making this one nearly 140 years old.  The numbers are matching on the frame, cylinder, latch, barrel, and even the bottom of the factory box is numbered to this revolver.  Checkered hard rubber grips are also original to this gun with perfect fit and about mint condition. The nickel finish has some spots that have lifted and are beginning to oxidize but overall the plating is about 92% intact.  The hammer and trigger display strong original case colors while the trigger guard and barrel latch show around 75 and 85 percent original blue respectively.  Screws and pins all look excellent.  Mechanically, the barrel latches tightly to the frame and the action cycle in both single and double action modes.  Ejectors work.  Everything feels tight and the bore is Excellent...bright and shiny with strong lands and grooves and no signs of pitting.  Fortunately, it doesn't appear anyone has ever fired smokeless ammunition out of this one as nothing feels stretched or loose.  Box is in Good Condition with the original orange end label intact that accurately notes this is a .32 Caliber, Nickel Plated, Double Action with a 3 Inch Barrel. No pieces are broken off although some of the edges and corners are a little frayed.  Factory instructions are located inside the lid of the box.  Antique, No FFL Required.  Sorry, we do not export.
