Outstanding condition Argentine Model 1909 Mauser. All matching serial numbers except the cleaning rod. Argentine crest on receiver ring. Receiver is in the white which is correct, with fire blued small parts. Argentine inspection and acceptance marks all over. The stock is excellent with just a few tiny compression marks. No cracks or oil soaking, never sanded or refinished. NO IMPORT MARKS. This is one that came in back in the 1960’s before such defacement was required.
Looks to have been fired very, very few rounds by the condition of the bolt face. Unfired by me. Bright, sharp, clean bore. This particular example was manufactured under contract in 1910. The Modelo 1909 is an unusual variation of the Mauser ’98 design with a commercial style hinged floorplate and auxiliary bayonet lug to accept the Model 1891 bayonet. The Modelo 1909 Argentine is considered to be one of the most finely finished and assembled Mausers. This has been in my collection for almost 30 years.
