***SOLD*** Here is an excellent example of one of the last Winchester Repeating Arms Company marked Model 70's prior to the takeover by US Repeating Arms Co. This is the beautiful Featherweight XTR Model.
I bought this rifle new in 1982. It has between 40 and 60 rounds through it from breaking in the barrel, zeroing the scope and practicing at the range. It has been sitting in a closet for the last 38 years. Blueing is at least 98% +, any marks in the photos are streaks from oil. The stock is also excellent as seen in the photos. The bore is clean, sharp and bright.
The .257 Roberts is a classic caliber and getting hard to find in this model. No open sights were supplied by the factory, the barrel is the "pencil" type. A two piece set of the Conetrol brand projectionless mounts and split rings is supplied. Ready for your scope. Original Winchester red rubber recoil pad. Also included are the original factory owner's manual, warranty card, and instructions for the Conetrol scope mounts.
