Description:
This liner shows heavy use and was probably worn by a member of the army medical personnel in a field hospital or other rear echelon treatment center. It appears that at one time a red cross was affixed with medical tape, but later removed before the entire helmet was painted red. There is one medium sized crack on the rear. The liner was made by The Mine Safety Appliances Company around 1943.
