Custom 257 Weatherby magnum by Harry McGowen.Built in 1957 before McGowen went into the custom barrel businss full time.The rifle is signed on the bottom of the barrel "Harry McGowen May 1957".The rifle has a thumbhole walnut stock with a rollover cheekpiece and rosewood grip cap and forend tip..The 22" barrel has a mint bore.The action is a 98 Mauser that has been customized.It has a butterknife bolt handle and double set triggers that are adjustable.The rifle has a Pentax 4x16x50 scope installed.This is a great flat shooting rifle built by a master gunsmith who was a pioneer in premium barrel making.The company he founded is still in business today.C&R eligible.
