Here we present an antique Eliott Light Dragoon Pattern Flintlock Pistol by Willets, made circa the mid-to-late 1700s. This is a fantastic example of a pistol that was made in the American colonies around the time of the American Revolutionary War. The design is British, but it does not bear any of the required proof marks of a British made gun, nor does it bear any royal cipher on the lock. There are marks on the bottom of the barrel: the name “WILLETS” and the initials “T.K” stamped upside down in relation to the first marking. There are several Willets known to have been making guns around this time: John Willets of Wednesbury, Staffordshire; Benjamin Willets of Birmingham; and A. & S. Willets of New York. Prior to the American War for Independence, there was steady trade in arms from England to the colonies. However, once conflict loomed the rebels were left to their own craftsmen to supply the demand as best they could. The overall condition is good+. Gray patina. The action is strong and tight. The bore is smooth and gray. The stock has been repaired and refinished. A solid flintlock pistol from one of the most transforming periods in history! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 9 inches. Caliber: .66 Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE.
