1850s Antique BOY’S LONG RIFLE .32 Caliber Percussion NEW YORK German Silver
Less than a Yard Long!
Here we present an antique Boy Sized Half Stock American Long Rifle, made circa the 1850s. This rifle would have made a very nice target or small game rifle for a young boy learning how to hunt. The overall length is short, making it a relatively light and handy rifle. The stock features a nice grain and has gracious curves in the New York style with German silver & pewter décor. Octagonal barrel in .32 caliber, a nice size for small game such as rabbit, squirrel, and racoon. There is a windage adjustable dovetailed front sight and a target style aperture rear sight. 12-3/4 inch length of pull. 34-5/8 inches overall length.
The overall condition is very good. The action is strong and crisp. The bore is in good shape with strong rifling. The lock is nicely engraved. Smooth and solid stock with a small chip at the toe, otherwise whole. A great example of a hard to find boy’s rifle from the 19th Century!
