Wow !!!, this is the best 1862 police factory conversion blued Colt police I have ever had the pleasure to own, and one of the best I have ever seen in 35 years of collecting Colts. If you are looking for the best for investment here, she is. Thirty-eight rimfire cartridge guns made from original and factory altered percussion parts, This early gun, bearing the serial number 673, was made using the traditional deep fluted cylinder found on the percussion version of the 1862 Police. The loading lever cutouts were filled during factory conversion, an ejector and loading gate installed, and was fitted with an offset elongated firing pin designed to strike the rim of the cartridge. This gun has seen little use, showing 95% factory blue and 80% soft case color. The frame lockup is tight, and the action works excellent and tight lockup—the 4 1/2 inch barrel sports the Colt New York address. The bore is excellent, and the grips retain over 95% original varnish. All visible serial numbers match, along with original unnumbered wedge .
