Description:
FOR SALE: Scarce & historic U.S. First Contract Henry lever action rifle, Serial #3710, 44 Henry, R.F.cal., with octagon barrel, brass receiver, walnut stock. ALL MATCHING NUMBERS:  Barrel, receiver, wood stock, & screws marked 3710!! This rifle is one of the first 800 Henry Rifles purchased by the U.S. Ordinance Department on December 30, 1863, to arm the first D.C. Calvary Regiment. This is an outstanding example of a historic first contract Henry Rifle. The 1st D.C. Calvary rifles were actually used in Civil War combat as this rifle clearly shows.
