Description:
Pre-64 WinchesterModel 70 Rifle in.30-06 Springfield. A very good example of the classic Pre-64 model 70 rifle, featuring a 24 inch barrel with front blade sight and folding rear, where the actionfeatures the ever-popular"claw extractor",bolt knob hole and three positiion safety, all mounted to aMonte Carlo, checkered walnut stock, with checkered plastic butt-plate and original sling swivels. Includes aRedfield base and rings and a time period leather sling. The front sight hood is missing, and the checkering on the stock is of low quality,but this rifle was manufactured in 1961, which by mid1960 Winchester went to a machine cut checkering which produced arougher checkering. The condition of the rifle is very, very good, and very close to being a perfect collector, however there are a few marks in the wood and the metal, and the bolt knob is showing some fading. But as a shooter or hunter, it would be one that you would baby whenin the field! Date of manufacturingfor this rifle is1961, and the serial number is543559. .30-06 Springfield
