*** SOLD*** Here is an excellent example of one of the Clackamas Oregon manufactured Kimber Model 82 Classic Sporter Model rifles in caliber .22 Hornet. At least 98% condition overall, with a beautiful Claro Walnut stock, a Niedner steel checkered buttplate and steel grip cap.
Kimber of Oregon was founded in 1979 and initially made high quality, .22 rimfire sporting rifles. The centerfire Model 82 .22 Hornet model was introduced in September, 1982 and replaced by the Model 82B with minor improvements shortly before being discontinued in July, 1986. Production in .22 Hornet caliber was limited, with only 3789 produced. Kimber of Oregon went bankrupt in 1991. The company changed ownership several times and is now known as Kimber America, located in NY, and no longer manufactures the 82 series rifles. This rifle was purchased by me new in the box in December of 1983. It has between 150 and 200 rounds through it. It has been in storage since the mid-1980’s. Included are Kimber medium height rings and a Made In USA Leupold M8-6X scope which was also manufactured in Oregon, making a unique combination. These older Leupold gloss finish, made in USA scopes are in high demand and often bring in excess of $150 on the various sites.
