THIS HUGE FEARSOME RUSTY BATTLEFIELD FOUND SWORD BAYONET WAS MADE FOR USE WITH THE AUGUSTIN JAGER CARBINE, CIRCA 1849-1854 MANY WERE USED IN THE CIVIL WAR. ABOUT 28" OVERALL WITH 23 1/2" BLADE, 4 1/4" SOCKET MEASURING 1 1/16" OUTER & .92" INNER DIAMETER. FAINT MARKINGS ARE NOT DISCERNABLE DUE TO THE RUST. THIS IS A RARELY ENCOUNTERED MID- 19th CENTURY BAYONET, AS PICTURED.
