At the suggestion of a couple GI members, I have added a Zeiss Diavari ZM 3-12X56T Scope with swing mounts to the double rifle barrel. This adds more than $1600 value to this fine set. I have a full picture file to send on e-mail request.
Description: This Merkel Sidelock 203e from 1953 is a very rare and fine example of German craftsmanship. LOP is 14 1/8 inches. This Model 203e Sidelock has very nice exclusive fine scroll engraving on the side locks. Wood and Blueing are in great condition. Beautiful Dark high grade oiled stock in near perfect condition. This is a dream combination made for the owner that wants it all in one gun. O/U Double Shotgun, O/U Shotgun/Rifle in .22 Hornet for small game and preditors, O/U Shotgun/Rifle in 7/65R for large game and preditors as well as a Double Rifle in 7X65-R for large game. Truely a one of a kind custom combination.
There are NO importer’s markings anywhere on the gun.
Extras: Fine Scroll Engraving. High Grade Wood. Exclusive Custom Leather Case. Each Barrel marked. Key. Very fine old leather case. This case would cost $3000 plus today.
