CIVIL WAR ORNATE PRESENTATION GRADE U.S. MODEL 1850 STAFF AND FIELD MOUNTED OFFICER’S SWORD AND SCABBARD. 40” o/a with 33” etched and engraved blade with “U.S” and “E. PLURIBUS UNUM/FEDERAL EAGLE” motifs and maker signed on ricasso “W. CLAUBERG/SOLINGEN”. Brass hilt with ornate “US” guard and shark skin grip wrap. Blued steel scabbard with ornate floral brass mounts. All original and very fine condition overall. A very fancy and large sword for a high ranking mounted Union officer.
