Description:
This fast-handling variant of Sako's Model 85 features controlled cartridge feed to eliminate double feeding (cartridge jams), a 22" cold hammer-forged barrel, 6 round capacity, and a low-glare, oil-finished walnut stock. Overall condition is excellent and it has yet to be taken afield, since the original owner took a sudden liking to Sako's Bavarian-stocked 9.3x62mm. The 9.3x62mm Mauser was developed in Berlin and released in 1905, instantly gaining popularity among the thousands of Europeans colonizing Africa. It served the "meat hunter" admirably on animals large and small, but also provided enough power to handle those inevitable encounters with Africa's more confrontational beasts like Cape buffalo, lion, and elephant. Over the past 20 years, the venerable 9.3x62mm has made great strides in North America, tallying decisive kills on moose, elk, brown bear, interior grizzly, and black bear. When circumstances have advanced from tense to urgent, it's proven equally effective at stopping the charge. Given its rich history, all of that is to be expected. Surprising to some, however, has been its emergence as a formidable brush cartridge for medium-sized game. It anchors them. In 1905, Otto Bock's 9.3 was a very good cartridge. With today's well-constructed bullets and modern powders, it's a phenomenal cartridge. Factory ammunition is available from nearly every major manufacturer, and quality reloading dies and components are inexpensive. No more excuses. Treat yourself to the versatility of the finest non-magnum medium-bore cartridge on in the world. 9.3X62mm
