#6581, John Rigby & Co. London, England; Rigby 7mm Rem. Magnum: A Mauser Action in 7mm Remington Magnum Built in 1988 and Proved in London at 19.5 tons. It is with a 24" barrel with a 1/4 rib, 1 standing & 3 folding rear sights that are Gold inlaid with yardage and sight lines, Band front ramp with a sight protector, Barrel band sling eye, Machined single lever quick release H&H style scope mount installed by Rigby at the time of manufacture, 1" Engraved scope rings with the serial number, An installed 3-10 x 42 Habicht Swarovski with their neat Ballistic Reticle, Side tang safety, Canjar trigger, Hinged floorplate with a frontal bow release, 5 panel bolt knob teardrop checkering with an engraved floral pattern, A pure classic style stock with very nice wood that has excellent color and contrast, Complete wrap around point pattern checkering, Shadowline European style cheekpiece, Ebony forend tip, Single steel crossbolt at the recoil lug, Engraved steel grip cap, 14 3/8" LOP over a 1" pad, 9 lbs. 10 oz. with the scope & 8 lbs. 10 oz. without, Excellent internal inletting that is as good as I have seen out of England. The floorplate and magazine box has 70% coverage of very nice scroll engraving, the name and address on the barrel. This piece is all original with the blue at 98%, the original wood finish at 92% with light scattered handling marks, the checkering remains at 100% and the bore is as new. This is a first-class London Sporter by Rigby in 1988 and is built tough to handle the rigors of hard hunting. We have recently shot the rifle and it is accurate with 160 grain Nosler Partition bullets. This piece was imported by Hallowell & Co. when they were in Greenwich, Connecticut.
