I have for sale a very nice Francotte Model 20E in 20 gauge. This gun is set up perfectly for the uplands, so if you are a grouse, woodcock, or quail hunter take a long look at this one. This gun was built in 1936 and sold to Shaw Walker, owner of a nationally known furniture business by Abercrombie & Fitch. His initials are still on the initial shield. His name is also on the lovely leather toe under luggage case that was bought with the gun and has cleaning rod, oil bottle, snap caps, and cleaning jags, all from A&F and so marked. The gun has 26 inch barrels with ejectors and bores of .627 on the right barrel and .626 on the left. Choke constrictions are .004 right and .010 left. Chambers are original and 2 3/4 inches. Stock dimensions are 1 1/2 X 2 1/4 X 14 1/4 over the original bone butt plate with engraved screws. Cast of the gun is neutral and it features a 1/2 pistol grip or Prince of Wales grip. Splinter forend and Anson Latch. Weight of the gun is exactly as it was when originally sold at 5 pounds 8 ounces so it certainly won't wear you out in the grouse woods. Action is the Anson & Deeley style box lock with sideplates and features a Purdey style double underlug. The action has a greener crossbolt and sideclips making it a super strong action especially considering the weight. Gun appears to be all original with the exception of I believe somewhere along the line a lite coat of finish has been added but it may be original??? I have a very complete package of information done by Mr. Beach on this gun telling the history and specifications. Price of this lovely little original gun is $5000 plus $50 shipping to your FFL.
