Description:
S&W's Schofield version of the Model 3 commenced production in 1875, and many of the 3,035 manufactured went to the U.S. Army, as did this one. Bluing on the frame and cylinder is somewhat less than 50%, but no evidences of rust or pitting on the exterior metal. One small area of pitting in the bore, near the chamber, but chambers show little evidence of this. Mechanically sound, this is nontheless a Black powder firearm only. US marking on butt of frame, along with serial number.Wood stocks are varnished (maybe re-varnished), but show no dings, etc. A very nice example of a rare Army revolver. Antiue Gun Shoppe has a 60 year history of selliing antique firearms to collectors. We do NOT recommend firing the arms, and make NO representation as to their suitability to do so.
