Carr", Inspected Colt Single Action Army Cavalry Revolver with Factory Archive Letter. .45 LC Caliber, with a 7.5" barrel an excellent bore. The accompanying factory letter states the revolver was one of 250 units sold to the U.S. Government and delivered to the U.S. inspector at the Colt factory on April 29, 1891. The top of the barrel has the one-line Hartford address, the frame has the two-line patent dates marking followed by "U.S." The Rinaldo A. Carr sub inspection "RAC" stamp is located on the underside of the barrel, bottom of the frame and cylinder. There is a "P" proof mark is found on the barrel and cylinder. Matching serial numbers , #140032 are on the frame, trigger guard, back strap, and the cylinder. has the last 4 digits ,"0032" of serial number. The Loadind gate and the frame(under the trigger guard), have the same 4 digit assembley number "1911" Has a "K" insprctor's mark on the backstrap, triggerguard and end of ejector tube, has a "K" over an "O" in the hammer slot. Walnut grips are solid and show some shrinkage. I can find no markings on grips. The overall condition of this nice revolver is very good, retaining bright original of blue on/around/under the ejector rod housing and faint traces of original case colors, otherwise a smooth mottled brown/gray patina. .
