#305-97, Arrieta - Elgoibar, Spain: A 12 Bore Bar Action Hand Detachable Sidelock Ejector Model 871 Round Body Made in 1997 with 28" Ejector Chopper Lump barrels, The bores & chokes at .726 .009 & .016" (Imp.Cyl. & Mod.), 2 3/4" chambers, Bushed strikers, Double triggers with the front articulated, Splinter forend with an Anson release, Straight hand stock at 14 3/4 x 1 7/16 x 2 3/16" over a full face checkered butt, Cast-On for the left hand BUT it points great for the right hand as it has a bit of a swept comb that works great from the right shoulder, One of the few that I have encountered that will work either way, 6 lbs. 13 oz., Very nice wood with excellent color & contrast, 85% coverage of very fine scroll engraving with a bouquet of roses on each lock plate, The barrels retain 99.5% original blue, The original case colors are at 100%, The wood remains at 99%, The wrap around checkering at 100%, The bores are as new, It remains tight to the face with 100% of the bite left. The barrels ring with a pronounced chime and the barrel striking is as good as a best English gun. It is cased in a leather cornered canvas trunk with a loose Arrieta trade label.
