A VERY RARE Gun!
I've collected and traded in vintage Beretta shotguns for almost 30 years. For many of those years, I didn't believe Beretta actually produced the BL-5 in 28ga, because I couldn't find one. Then about nine years ago, I finally found one. Since then, I have observed a total of three (3) Beretta BL-5 28ga shotguns - including this one. During that same period I've owned more than a dozen Chas. Daly Miroku Baby Frames - and seen a few more that I didn't own. And, during that same period, I've owned more than 30 Beretta BL-4 28ga guns. I have no idea how many of Beretta BL-5 28ga guns were produced. When you consider how few of them have surfaced in the market over the decades, it cannot have been very many.
1970 - Beretta - BL-5 - - 28ga, 2-3/4", 28" M / F (.010 / .023) Vent Rib, Mid Rib Bead, Ejectors, Single Selective Trigger, Hand Engraved, Long Trigger Guard Tang, LOP 14-1/4", Drop 1-1/2" to 2-1/2", Neutral Cast, Weight 6 lbs 3 oz.
Very tight gun. Still doesn't fall open. Perfect Bores. Shot very little. Metal is 99+%. Wood about 96% - the forearm is perfect, some minor wear on the butt stock.
