Wade & Butcher, Sheffield, England sheath knife retailed by the great Chicago sporting goods store Von Lengerke & Antoine. Knife measures 9 1/4" in overall length with a 5" blade. It remains in very good overall condition with a tattered sheath. Von Lengerke & Antione was the Chicago branch of the great New York sporting goods firm Von Lengerke & Detmold. Established in the 1890's, both were purchased by Abercrombie & Fitch in 1929 along with Griffin & Howe. V L & A operated under its own name until the late 50's.
