This war time 98K was produced in 1943. The rifle's serial number is 6963 d. This J.P. Sauer has the early gothic style lettering of Mod 98. on the receiver left side frame. The "CE" code was issued to this company in 1941 to the end of the war to prevent captured guns giving away where they were produced. This rifle is all matched serial numbered. This includes the extractor, the top hand guard, firing pin, rear sight, and other hard to reach parts. The bore is in very fine condition with sharp lands. This laminated stock has the correct stamps for this rifle and time frame. The stock has not been "duffle bag cut". The sling is a correct original as issued sling. All of the parts are milled and not stamped. This rifle shows service use and wear. The stock and handguard have no damage or chips. The bluing is faded but intact. The cleaning rod is intact and shows the same wear as the rest of this rifle. The action is tight and works smoothly. The front sight hood is intact. This is a very fine condition 98K German War Time issued rifle from a highly collectable firearms manufacturer! J.P. Sauer 98K's are highly sought for in original unaltered condition!
