For your viewing is a Colt Officers Model Special in 38 Spl. Cal. with 4’ heavy barrel. Serial No. 789XXX. Revolver has adjustable rear sight and a ramped front sight. Wood grips in excellent condition. Inside of barrel is in mint condition. This is a 97+ plus revolver made between 1949 and 1952. only about 6000 were made in 22 and 38 cal. It’s a very nice revolver. Blue book says they only made them in 6" barrels. Never say only at Colt, special orders are alway available at Colt then, and now today in the custom shop. this is the pre-model to the Python
