Shipped to M.W. Robinson, located in New York City (was Smith & Wesson's largest distributor in 1871), as a blue gun along with 99 others, this very attractive 1st Model American was probably engraved there. The floral and geometric patterns are well executed and nicely integrated. This gun is 100% original and all numbered parts are matching, including the grips. The gun has seen use, but is mechanically sound, has a fair bore, and retains approximately 20% of its bright blue finish. The gun appears to have its original german silver front sight. Overall, this is a very attractive early frontier revolver. Note: Includes Smith & Wesson factory letter (see picture). PRICE: SOLD
