EARLY WW2 SPRINGFIELD U.S. M1 M-1 GARAND RIFLE. .30-06 caliber serial numbered in the 78xxx range manufactured in Oct. 1940. Original and matching except for the magazine follower. Original barrel correctly undated for mid 1940. Matching stock and handguard. Has much of the original Parkerizing with normal wear. Wood with the original worn handling patina and cartouche no longer visible. Working order and good bore. Original WW2 erasling. Rare early Garand that could have been in all the WW2 campaigns where they saw service. Desirable and quite hard to find.
