Colt 1847 Walker D Company 8 Made in 1847. .44 Caliber with a 9" barrel. Original gun with gray patina throughout metal with scattered pitting in spots. Gun is all matching. The cylinder is not numbered. This is due to a great number of these cylinder blowing up during test firing and being replaced with unnumbered cylinders. The only restoration to this gun is the loading lever as well as approximately half an inch of the muzzle. This gun was converted to a Dragoon style catch during the period of use and then reconverted back to Walker style. These Walker Colt are considered the ultimate in Colt collecting. This is a well-documented gun that has a lot of paperwork with it. This gun was originally in the D.Sam Jagoda collection who was a early collector who bought this gun in the 1930’s out of Louisiana . The gun was sold in a Butterfileds and Butterfields in December of 2000 and purchased by Collectors Firearms. This gun was sold to a Colt collector who we acquired it from recently. This gun comes with the front of the catalog. It also comes with a letter from D. Jagoda’s son, as well as a letter from noted Colt authority, dealer and collector, Tom Seymor. In addition to the lineage paperwork, this gun was in both Parade of Walkers which were gatherings of the known Walker s put on by Texas Gun Collectors Association. This gun has also been featured in several articles in both the Gun Report Magazine and Arms Heritage Magazine. An extremely well documented Colt Walker.
