If "RFV" stamp were real it would have stood for the Reich Finance Administration (police) which was the customs service and border patrol apparatus. Excellent condition with blade having original flat black finish with original false edge. Crisp "R.F.V" struck on hilt probably done in past few years as font not large enough as on real ones documented. Crisp serial number and "I" code on ricasso with "Rich A. Herder" opposite. "WaA255" waffenamt codes on flashguard, pommel and scabbard finial. Scabbard matches to bayonet with "Richard A. Herder" and "1938" under with matching serial number opposite. Original bakelite grip panels with unturned screws. Scabbard has some old light pitting with stamps still crisp(so not refinished) but cold blue added. Nice bayonet with fun but faux RFV stamp. SOLD |
