Description:
Listed is an antique U.S. Springfield 1812 Marked Flintlock Musket. These arms were patterned off the current production 1795 type muskets being made at the Springfield Armory and the Harpers Ferry Armory. The US didn’t produced the Model 1812 until around 1815. The Model 1812 smooth bore, flintlock musket. It was designed very closely patterning the French “Charleville” Flintlock Musket that was used to by the colonists against the British during the American Revolutionary War.
The overall condition is good with a strong action. The bore is smooth and dark. The stock is solid with the usual handling marks. The date of 1812 and the Springfield eagle are partially visible on the lock which shows some pitting. This example has survived the test of time and remains in its original flintlock! Here is a very early American flintlock musket from the early Indian Wars, the War of 1812 and likely many other conflicts!
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 42-1/2 inches.
Caliber: .69
Overall condition as seen in photos.
