The best I have seen. Here's an exceptional example of the scarce J.C. Higgins 51L lightweight sporting rifle in 30-06 caliber. S/N 11***. This rifle is built around the excellent Swedish Mauser HVA action by Husqvarna and was sold by Sears back in the day. It wears a slim profile 22" barrel with excellent bore and a 1/10 twist which is better for stabilizing heavy bullets than the similar style Husqvarnas of the same era. The safety is an improved shotgun-style over the original clunky and scope intrusive Mauser's. The overall condition is superb with just a few light impressions in the wood. A very hard to find rifle, especially in this condition!
