Description:
This an Antique Colt Model 1895 Double Action New Army Revolver with 6" Barrel, Blued Finish, and Checkered Dark Brown Gutta Percha Hard Rubber Grips. It doesn't appear to have ever been fired as it has no rings around the chambers on the front of the cylinder or any recoil wear on the recoil shield or around the firing pin bushing.  The action is super tight and the cylinder swings out stifly like its brand new. The bore in MINT!  Unfortunately, this revolver was not stored as well as it could have been are there are some rust spots and some flaking in the blue.  Frame has about 80% original blue while the barrel and cylinder have quite a bit more flaking with approximately 60% original blue remaining overall.  Bright Colt Nitre blue is still on the screws, trigger and rear hammer profile.  Grips are perfect with no chips, cracks, or wear to the checkering.  It came to us in an original Colt Box which is in Fair Condition, missing some of the edges and end lable.  It's a slightly later box as the inner labels indicate advertisements for Colt Automatic Pistols and the directions inside the lid mention the Colt Positive Lock Action...and this gun pre-dates that.  I'd say the box is between 1905-1920 with the maroon color boxes being used from the late 1800's up to about 1920 when Colt went to Navy Blue colored boxes.  Serial Number is in the 97,000 range which dates its production to the year 1898.  Anything made before Jan. 1, 1899 qualifies as an Antique under the Federal Gun Control Act of 1968.  State laws apply as well and this will require an FFL in NJ, NY, HI, Chicago, and any other State, City, or Locality that has restrictions.  Buyer must be 21 years of age and a law-abiding citizen of the United States.  All items are sold as Antique Collectibles Only.  If you wish to fire an antique weapon, we strongly recommend you have it inspected by a competent licensed gunsmith and read up on proper loads as this was original designed for black powder, not smokeless used in modern ammunition. Shipping.  25.00 in Lower 48 States.  Sorry, I do not export to foreign countries.  All items come with a 3-Day Non-Firing Inspection Period.
