Description:
****SOLD****For the shooter or collector, here is an unusual Remington Speedmaster 241 with Grooved Receiver, in near excellent condition with a couple of small blemishes on the receiver and some small handling marks on the wood.  It has a 24" barrel.  Manufactured in 1947, it has matching numbers on receiver, barrel and trigger assembly.  Unblemished screw heads are a good indication that this rifle has been well cared for.  See the pictures for condition.  Happy to talk, text or email any time.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks for looking!       354787 HHE 5I

Concerning the grooved receiver, Bill Ward, in his book Walnut and Steel II, writes, "no receivers were ever factory "grooved" for the tip-off style mounts."  Other sources have indicated to me that Remington may have grooved receivers when they came in for repair, but, in doing so, would have added a new date code to the barrel.  In any case, I do not wish to misrepresent the rifle from a collector standpoint.  Whether or not the grooves were done by Remington, they are a desirable feature, especially for a shooter.

If your preference is Walnut & Blue, check out my other listings for quality Traditional and Custom Firearms.
