#720196 Webley & Scott Mod 720 . 20 Ga 2 ¾” cased. First of a composed consecutive number pair (for serial #720197, please refer to Guns International listing #101460022).
Imported by Service armament Co. Ridgefield NJ . 26” barrels with shinny bores and chambers , original blacking in 95% plus condition . Bores measure .615” with .006” and .020” constriction Imp Cyl and Imp Mod. Wall thickness are .035”& .033”. Action retains 90% of the original case hardening colors, 80% scroll engraving coverage. The breeches are smack on face and the bolting has plenty of reserve. Trigger pulls ,Timing and ejection are everything you expect from a classic British Anson and Deeley gun. Double triggers , automatic safety ,” screwgrip” spindle, Southgate ejectors.
Straight grip stock with teardrops, splinter forend , 14 5/8” LOP over a checkered butt, with 1 7/16” and 2 3/16” drop and 5/16” cast off. The wood finish and checkering are original and display the dents and scratches typically seen on a shotgun used on the field. The gold escutcheon has initials on it but shallow enough to be polished out if desired. It remains in 85% plus condition. The gun balances at the hinge pin and weighs 5Lbs. 9 Oz.
