Description:
Springfield model 1855 cadet in overall very good Cond. Only 2500 of these guns were made and so not often seen. Has proper 38 inch barrel, 50 inch stock and correct spacing of barrel bands. Maynard primer system and mechanics are perfect. Lock plate markings and proof marks on barrel are very good but date on barrel is worn. Metal parts have been cleaned at some point Rifled bore is verg good and correct ramrod with threaded tip. Stock has chip out by hammer and shoulder stock has been repaired where it been chipped out long ago.Buttplate is smaller then those on full size musket and also correct for this model. This model musket often sells for $4000 - $5000.
