For your consideration is an early (1906) COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG, CO. AUTOMATIC COLT 38 RIMLESS SMOELESS, OR 1903 POCKET HAMMER.
Early round hammer, Browning Patent, excellent bore for a 1906 pistol. Some finish lose, scratches, a few dings, but overall a very good condition Pocket Hammer 38 Auto.
Magazine is marked CAL 38 COLT, but an unmarked magazine is probaly correct. Magazine is in good condition, with no cracks at the feed lips, feeds and functions properly.
The takedown plug has been repaired. Apparently Colt had left over takedown plugs from the earier design that included a recoil plug, this left the takedown plugs short so Colt soldered legs onto them and used these parts up. I ran this by the Colt Forum Members and their was several examples of these takedown plugs with legs, some one leg, some two, posted.
