Description:
From my personal collection, I am offering a well executed custom FN rifle in .338-06 caliber. Action is vintage early 1950's, floor plate/trigger guard is steel push button release style, the 24 inch barrel is Pac Nor match grade, trigger is by Blackburn with a very excellent crisp/light pull. Safety is M-70, 2 position type, blued finish is matte.
The quality stock is the focal point of this rifle. Hand crafted from an exceptional piece of English walnut by Jeff Loofburrow, former stockmaker for Kimber. There is an abundance of black streaks throughout the butt and the streaks extend through the fore end which is capped by an ebony tip. There is also some fiddleback in the butt. Fore end checkering is full wrap around. Pistol grip checkering is 3 panel. The cheakpiece has a fine shadow line. The area around the bolt release is nicely contoured. Grip cap is 2 screw, Fisher style. Butt pad is solid black Pachmayer decelerator. Sling swivels are 2 screw type.
Although I have not done more load testing than maybe 30 rounds, the test targets show the accuracy potential of this very nice custom rifle that remains in 99 0/0 new condition.
This rifle will make a great elk rifle for someone that appreciates a beautiful custom rifle.
Life is too short to hunt with an ugly rifle.
