Description:
This is a very rare original Colt rear sight for the Model 1855 Revolving Rifle. It has a large locking screw at the rear which, when loosened, allows the operator to slide the screw forward causing a curved arm to raise the tangent sight notch up, or pull it back, causing the notch to lower. The sight retains about 90% of the original bright rust blue finish with some dull patina on the locking screw, and some silvering along the sharp edges. This is an almost never seen Colt rear sight, and would make a great addition to any collection.
