Description:
Henry Deringer Gold Mounted Commemorative Pistol Set - mint condition. This set of unfired Deringers was manufactured in 1978 for the "U.S. HISTORICAL SOCIETY" and was one of one hundred gold mounted sets made. These pistols are single-shot, muzzle loading, percussion pistols in .41 caliber. They are gold mounted with gold bands around the 2 1/2" barrels. Each pistol has a trap in butt that holds a spare nipple. The pistols are engraved in the period style with vine type engraving and gold plated borders. 14 karat gold plated fittings include sideplates, trigger guards, trigger plates, trap door butt caps & oval nameplates. Key fastened birdshead grips of fancy hand checkered walnut. The pistols come in a fitted, velvet lined case that's made to resemble a large book.
