Good condition 1853 Tower Enfield Percussion Civil War Rifled Musket. This Enfield is a fantastic piece of American history that will make a great addition to your collection.
Features:
Make - Tower - Birmingham
Model - 3rd. Model 1853
Caliber - .577
Lock:
Condition - Very good condition.
Finish - Even brown patina.
Function - Excellent. Holds at both half and full cock. Strong spring.
Markings - Clear manufacture date of 1861 by Tower. Clear British crown.
Stock:
Condition- Very good. The stock is solid. All of the hardware is in very good condition.
Old repaired crack by rear barrel band. Rear sling swivel missing.
Original brass butt plate.
Cartouches- None visible..
Barrel:
Condition - Good condition.
It appears that the breech plug should be turned in an additional turn.
Proofs - Evident but not distinguishable.
Bore - Rifled bore in fair condition. Faint rifling with pitting.
Sights - Missing rear sight..
Ramrod - Ramrod in very good condition.
