This is a “COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA" marked rifle with kangaroo on the receiver, and retains 75-80% of the original blue finish turning plum-brown, with silvering along the high and exposed edges, as well as some gray fading near the muzzle. A crisp “D^D" Australian Government stamp is present on the right side of the receiver. The walnut forend and buttstock have numerous minor handling marks and light blemishes in the original military oil finish, along with some minor impact marks and small surface chips around the forend pin. A still sharp and legible “D^D" property stamp is present on the right side of the buttstock. The mechanism is tight and fully functional, and this is a fine example of an Australian marked Martini Cadet rifle overall.
