Description:
Nothing quite compares to a Pre War 70 and this one remains a very fine example, especially considering its 83 years of service! Very early 4 digit S/N 92** with matching scribed bolt made in 1937. 96% Blue with rust blued barrel and the beautiful polished carbonum blued receiver used only on the earliest rifles. Early frost blued extractor. 94% Varnish. The tight grained walnut stock shows beautiful color and figure with light handling marks throughout, but nothing deep or distracting. There is a small area of touch up around clover leaf tang but there are NO cracks in this area nor anywhere else. The barrel is 24" with excellent bore. Mechanics are perfect as expected from a Pre War.
