This Winchester was produced in 1889. The rifle's serial number is 305266. It has the 24 inch octagonal barrel. The bore is in great condition with no issues. This rifle has the button magazine and special sights. The front sight has the flip down globe sight. it also has the lyman tang sight with disc. The rear sight is the standard sight with elevator. The action is tight and not worn. The springs are strong and in proper tension. The stock and forend have the original wood finish intact. There are no cracks or damage to the wood. The original receiver bluing would rate a 96% overall lightly faded condition. The original dust cover is intact and locks up snug. The color cased hammer has strong color. The lever has faded color finish. The stock has the original cleaning rods in the stock. The brass carrier has nice mustard toned looking finish. This rifle shows little use or being shot. It is a very well cared for Winchester that has survived the years very well! This rifle being a 38 W.C.F. is a fairly rare chambering for this model. This is a highly collectable Model 1873 rifle in this fine of condition and chambering. The sights and button magazine help to make this rifle stand out even more!
