Description:
A nice 3rd model Morse Carbine with basically smooth brown on barrel with minor pitting in spots and where it meets the forend. Bore has good rifling with dark spots. Mechanically excellent and missing iron part on top of
latch and brass top part is all beat up as some idiot didn't know how to open the breech. It is opened when you cock the hammer back twice and then you can open it. Frame has scratches on each side of latch as the idiot
probably used a screw driver to try to pry it up. Has special tool in buttplate compartment. Wood is very nice except the bottom of forend with a couple of splenters as shown in the photos. Email if additional information is needed. Serial #447.
