Description:
Extremely Rare Marked Confederate 1862 Carbine - 70 cal with saddle ring - Stock is clearly marked on right side CO B 12th Virginia - Left side of Stock clearly marked CS with an engraved Confederate battle flag - Maker is Tanner Lieg, and the action still functions mechanically as it should. The Nipple is bit worn, but carbine is all original 1862. The stock has 1 crack on left side in a triangle shape running from the end of barrel & ending at the metal support to the rear of the saddle ring support. Most likely caused from the saddle ring in the field. Also 2 more hairline cracks, one to right side of the end of stock, just below the CS marking. Another hairline crack on right side just below the nipple as all 3 cracks are clearly depicted in the photo array. None of the cracks compromise the carbine as the stock is still sound. The bore is clear & bright, and overall the carbine is in VGC for 1862 circa field used battle carbine. This carbine is proofed with 3 military inspection marks, one D on the lower single barrel band. One L on the bottom, just behind the trigger housing, and the other L on right side area of the lock plate firing mechanism - Carbine has the original swivel ramrod intact - Measures 37 1/2 inches in Length with a 22 inch barrel - This is a scarce rare original Confederate CS Civil War 1862 field used and marked Carbine and true part of American History! These marked Civil War firearms are scarce and are seldom found. Shipping $55.00 to your door - No FFL required pre-1899
