British Model 1858 Cavalry Service Pistol. 8” Smoothbore barrel caliber 16.5mm (.63 caliber). Barrel has several proof or inspection marks. Lock marked EIG with crown Birmingham 1870. Action works perfectly. Stock edges are sharp. Metal has sharp markings, no pits. Has a captive ramrod. Cartouche on left side of stock, marked “Small Ames Co. LTD”. This example is described on page 105 and pictured on page 110 in Robert Brookers excellent book British Military Pistols. Seldom seen model in very good condition.
